  • July 13 - 15, 2009

Application Process
Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis (first-come, first-serve) until each workshop is full. Once a workshop has been filled to capacity, applicants will be put on a waitlist. We encourage you to apply early for any program you wish to attend. Please also be sure to submit your complete application (below) including application form and CV.

Once we have received your COMPLETED application, you will be notified of your status within 1-2 weeks. PLEASE NOTE that each accepted applicant must submit payment by the due-date indicated on the acceptance letter in order to guarantee his/her spot. If we do not receive payment by the specified due-date, there is a possibility that the spot may be given to someone else, as we often have lengthy waitlists.

Cognitive Therapy Workshop Description
This educational opportunity, better suited to the schedules of some professionals than the Extramural Training, is the more flexible, short-term Cognitive Therapy Workshop (see schedule above). Applicants must hold at least a Master's degree in a mental health, medical, or related field. Trainees from the same or different sites are grouped together, which provides for additional collaboration and enrichment in the activities outlined below. Trainees typically spend their time attending training sessions, viewing videotapes of patient sessions and/or teaching seminars, attending educational seminars and case conferences, and watching "live" patient sessions (when available) on our closed-circuit television and/or supervision of other therapists. Please note that training focuses on therapy of adults and older adolescents.

Sample Day
A typical day in the Cognitive Therapy Workshop consists of the following:
  • 2-3 hours/day: Training under Experienced Cognitive Therapists
  • 2 hours/day: Viewing Master Videotapes
  • 1 hour/day: Discussion with an Experienced Cognitive Therapist
  • 1 hour/day: Watching "live" Supervision or Patient Sessions (when available) on our closed circuit television
